Physician
Susan Jane Taylor, M.D.
Hematologist/Oncologist
Dr. Susan Jane Taylor earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology at Trinity University in San Antonio. She later received her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at St. Paul Hospital also in Dallas. She then completed a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at UCLA University Hospitals, Bowyer Multidisciplinary Cancer Center in Los Angeles, California. Subsequently, she completed a fellowship in Research Oncology at the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. While at the NCI, Dr. Taylor participated in preclinical research on the use of bisphosphonates in the treatment of bone metastasis.
Dr. Taylor is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology.

Diego Taylor
Practice Administrator
Diego has been a member of the Rio Bravo team since the clinic opened in 1999. If there is anything that needs attention in the clinic, the door of the administrator is always open and he is available to listen to see what can be done. Diego’s additional responsibilities include credentialing with payors, negotiating with vendors and directing human resources.
Vanessa Jones
Director of Operations
Vanessa was the first team member hired in 1999. She is a graduate of Del Rio High School and the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Vanessa’s role as Director of Operations is the nexus between the front office and the clinical department. Vanessa’s passion is direct patient care and every day she leverages her many years of oncology experience to allow the Rio Bravo team to provide the best possible care. Vanessa is a Registered Nurse and holds a Bachelor of Science of Nursing. She is an Oncology Certified Nurse.

Beverly Garza
Medical Records
The Rio Bravo team has enjoyed Beverly's presence since 2006. Beverly is responsible for the receipt and distribution of patient's medical records. Additionally she is the auditor for the encounter forms that are generated by the office. HIPAA compliance is another hat that is worn by Beverly in the office.

Delilah Rose
Financial Counselor
Delilah joined the team in 2002. She has tremendous expertise in deciphering patient insurance policies as well as a facility for interfacing with various pharmaceutical access programs.
Maria Hernandez
Financial Counselor
Maria has been on the team since 2003. She and Delilah constitute the team's one-two punch when it comes to advocacy for our patients with insurers and pharmaceutical companies. Maria is tenacious and is a huge resource when it comes to resolving complex insurance coverage issues.

Maricela Barrientos
Nursing Services
Maricela has been with the Rio Bravo team since 2002. Her's will be one of the first smiling faces that you will see as you are worked up in the triage department.
Maribel Villalpando
Nursing Services
Maribel joined the Rio Bravo team in 2006. She always makes time to learn how her patients are doing. She brightens all of our days.
Miriam Gonzalez
Infusion Nurse
Miriam joined the Rio Bravo team in 2015. She has become a stalwart in the infusion department, tending to all matters related to treatments and patient self-care. She is a delight in the office and the patients appreciate her attention to their wellbeing.
